IPMS SANTA ROSA AND IPMS MT. DIABLO PRESENT HOBBY EXPO 2009
Hello Fellow Modeler's
Well it's that time of year again for our annual Hobby Expo.
IPMS Santa Rosa and IPMS Mt. Diablo would like to invite you and your friends to the biggest hobby event in the bay area.
This years theme is "Crafting Your Dreams". This is a wide open theme that is available to almost everyone to enter.
We expect to have a dozen hobby clubs at the expo again this year including model railroads, RC planes and tanks, ships and cars, sail planes, battling robots, war gaming, military displays, Civil War reenactors and much more.
We have confirmed over thirty vendors for the expo this year selling kits, decals and books and supplies. There will be a free model Make and Take for the kids including plastic kits and Legos. And our annual crowd favorite the Speed Model Building contest, with a $50.00 winners prize and trophy.
We are also planning a really outstanding raffle! If you attended last years expo then you know how good our raffle was and is still talked about. We are going to have just as many or more great items this year with over $2500.00 in retail prizes. New this year we will have one additional raffle. We will have our regular "Triple Raffle" of 3 raffle tables which will be loaded with really great prizes. And in addition to these 3 raffles we will have a separate raffle we are calling the "Super Premium Raffle". This raffle will be a separate raffle for an Alpha Flight 1/48 Short Sunderland MK.III retail value $295.00.
And a Vintage Fighters Series P-47D Thunderbolt retail value $160.00.
Raffle times are 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm for the "Triple Raffle" with the "Super Premium Raffle" approximately 3:30pm. Ticket prices are $1.00 each for the "Triple Raffle" and $5.00 each for the "Super Premium Raffle".
And of course our Scale Model Contest with over forty Senior and Junior categories with first, second and third place awards for each category.
Plus ten special awards that are handmade by our members. Each award will include a famous autograph. This years autographs include Arthur C. Clark (2001 author) and Ray Harryhausen (pioneer stop action animator) and many more!
