Announcement from President John AdmireMay 11, 2008 IPMS SANTA ROSA FIELD TRIP Well... this is the big weekend, the Jacques Littlefield armor museum tour is here! It is this Saturday May 17th at 1:00pm. We will be stopping for a tail gate lunch, so if you plan on eating with us do not forget your bag lunch. Wear comfortable shoes you will be on your feet the hole time, bring your cameras and lots of film, and plenty to drink. Last year's tour we had a warm day so dress for it. The tour will take approximately 2.5-3 hours. Some of us will be meeting at the Rohnert Park Park and Ride. If you wish to convoy down with us you can meet us there or if you wish to just meet us down there the directions are below. Jacques Littlefield Museum Tour Schedule/Directions 1st LEG From Santa Rosa to Park and Ride We will be meeting at the southbound Park and Ride at Rohnert Park Expressway in Rohnert Park for caravaning. If you have not been to the Park and Ride before and are coming south on Hwy 101 take the Rohnert Park Expressway exit and get in the middle lane when you get to the lights, proceed straight across over the expressway and enter the south bound entrance to the freeway south. The Park and Ride entrance is on the left. If you want to caravan down with us you can meet us here. Please plan on being at the rest stop at 9:50 am in order to leave by 10:00 am. 2nd LEG Santa Rosa to Portola Valley Take Hwy 101 south to San Francisco, then take the 19th Avenue exit which will turn into Highway 280. Take the Alpine Road exit off of Highway 280 and go westbound towards Portola Valley. We will be stopping in the parking lot of a small Ęshopping center (don't know the name) on Alpine Road for lunch. The shopping center is on the Right hand side of the road as you head west on Alpine Road. Not too far after you exit highway 280, you cant miss it. This is just minutes from Littlefields and we can caravan to his house from there. We will meet at about 12:00pm. Bring a lunch and join us there. 3rd LEG Shopping Center To Littlefields Go 2.5 miles on Alpine Rd; turn left on Los Trancos Road, go 1.9 miles. Turn left on Ramona, left on Vista Verde, left on Old Spanish Trail. That will dead end into Pony Tracks Ranch. The gates will open if you drive up to them. After passing the gates, bear right at the fork in the road and park by the large brown building. I will see you Saturday John Admire President IPMS Santa Rosa
