Announcement from President John AdmireFebruary 10, 2008 IPMS SANTA ROSA AND IPMS MT. DIABLO POST EXPO UPDATE Hi Everyone! Well again another Very Very Successful Expo to report on. Yesterday we held our annual Expo in Petaluma and once again we had and excellent show, and I believe everyone who attended had a wonderful time. We would like to say Thank You to our partners at IPMS Mt. Diablo for their continuing support of the show. A Great Big Congratulations goes out to all of the winners at the show, there were definitely some awesome models! As everyone knows no one person can not put together a show as successful as this one was, you need a team effort. So I would like to THANK EVERYONE who helped make this a truly a great show. A Big thank you to Steve Elliott and his family for all of their time effort and money that they have put forward to make the show what it is today. Thanks again Steve and Family. I wouldÊ like to send out thanks to Mike Winters for his hard work organizing the vendors, it was very organized, and the vendors I spoke with seemed very happy. Great Job Mike! A special thanks to Greg Reynolds for all of your hard work, Greg is such an asset to the club wearing many hats at a time. Thanks go to Brett Halby and Paul Anderson for putting on the greatest raffle in our shows history. Thanks also go out to Tim Admire, our photographer for the day who captued the show from start to finish. And to this years Head Judge Dale Bohling who never stoped all day and did a super job for us... Thank You Dale! Also we want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to Doug and girlfriend Jae for their hard work all day inputting the entries into the computer. To all the other members I have not mentioned by name a Thanks goes out to you as well. We are fortunate to have as many talented and dedicated members in our club as we do and I believe this is the reason we are successful. I would also like to thank all of the hobby clubs that attended this years show by including these clubs has greatly accelerated the popularity of the Expo. Please join us again next year. A Thank You has to go to Hans Beerbaum for bringing his German 105 Howitzer and many other German WWII display items. Our registration crew deserves some kudos for their hard work Thanks Tom and Pat another job well done! And a I do not want to forget the Girl Scouts who provided the refreshments this year for us...the girls did a great job...Thanks A lot! The final numbers are not in yet but a tentative count has it at about 370 models in the contest. Someone estimated the foot traffic at about 1500 people, all I know is that the contest room was really packed all day. Vendors seemed like they were doing well with the sales all day, with people carrying model boxes and plastic bags. This show is probably the most successful show the club has put on to date, so we have now set the bar high for local shows to challenge. The kind of results that we saw yesterday comes only from a lot of hard work from many individuals and I have to say that I am privilegedÊto be able to work with such fine and dedicated people. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!! For making this our finest year! Now on to planning next year's event :>) John Admire President IPMS Santa Rosa
