On February 27, 2009, IPMS Santa Rosa member Rees Gwillim passed away. Rees built models of unsurpassed creative flare and whimsical charm. His interests covered immense territory--from real cars to science fiction submarines, beautiful trains to cartoon creations, and all points between. He exectuted his creations with amazing focus and attention to the smallest details. We will miss the wonderous and often working surprises he brought to the model table. Our best wishes go out to his friends and family.

When executing a vision, Rees often replicated even the most tiny details. If you could look inside this very custom coupe you could find keys in the ignition.

Rees preferred to model the amazing, the fantastic, and the historic, as with this beautiful train engine.

After watching Mad Max and the Road Warrior again and again over many weeks, Rees successfully recreated the interior of the Interceptor, including the dog bed and Dinky Doo dog food.
