Technique Demonstration (by Greg Reynolds, Treasurer):
Greg presented a short demonstration on restoring panel lines using a modified hobby knife.

Question and Answer:
A question concering the use of Archer Dry Transfers on figures led to a detailed discussion on the subject. Transfer the markings to decal film and apply them normally. In this case, do not use setting solution or Testors Dullcote on the decals as it will cause the markings to disintegrate. If you must use a setting solution, consider using Future. Seal the markings with Future (or another acrylic paint).

Model Review (by John Admire, President):
John offered an in-box review of Italeri's new PT boat in 1/35th scale. The one piece hull measures 28 inches. The deck is also one piece. The model comes with turned aluminum barrels for most weapons, wire, string, many photo-etch parts, and a helpful reference book.

Tom Young presented this 1/72 scale diorama incorporating a Hasegawa kubelwagen, Priessler German infantry, and ESCI British infantry. Called "Expensive Souveniers", the model depicts a band of British soldiers capturing a German general and his retinue, based on a similar incident in which German infantry captured a British general. The base utilizes a cigarette box filled with clay.

Tom also broght in this diorama base featuring a bridge in 1/72 scale. The model will eventual become the third of 6 vigenettes, built under contract, depicting Russian soldiers in World War I.

Dale Bohling once again brought in his ongoing project, an English Electric Canberra in 1/48 scale by Classic Airframes. Amongst other work, he cut out the side windows, cut down the wing roots, and sanded off the overscale air brakes.

Jack Riggar also brought in his ongoing project, a Vought A-7 Corsair II in 1/48 scale by Hasegawa. Only one plane from the squadron received this camouflage scheme, while training in the Sahara in 1990. Jack used Great Plane Detectives to find the basic decals with others made using an Alps printer. The base coat is dark ghost gray with a custom mixed tan overcoat, using Polyscale paints. The tan was intentionally sprayed very thin, with the gray showing through, as per the prototype. Numerous washes were used to bring out the details including burnt sienna and "sludge". The results were sealed using a very thin coat of Polyscale clear flat.
