Reno High Rollers 2007 Model Show

On September 8, 2007, the IPMS Reno High Rollers held their 8th annual model contest and show. The event, which ran from 9am to 4pm, featured almost 200 models of all types and sizes. In a first for Region 9, the club also offered card model awards in 4 categories: aircraft, armor, ships, and miscellaneous.
The contest featured two well stocked model raffles, including about a dozen mystery bags with two or more models each. Snacks, drinks, and raffle tickets were available for purchase from the club. The entry, judging, and award phases all went off in a timely and well organized fashion.
Participants came from all over California and Nevada, with one intrepid modeler visiting from Oregon! In particular, a large contingent of IPMS Dragon Lady-Yuba City members made the trip.
Throughout the show, Todd Johnson and Dan Hartman put on a card model construction demonstration, with Todd building a Tetrarch Mk VII from Der Kampflieger. The model was very far along by the end of the show.
Congratulations and thanks to all the members of IPMS Reno High Rollers for their successful and friendly show. We look forward to attending again next year.
