Workbench

Jon Thorpe

I built my workbench out of 2 x 4's and a large sheet of thick masonite. It's "U" shaped, about 6 x 4 ft overall with a 3 x 2 ft cutout on one side where I sit: surounded for that total model experience. The bench also features castors and a large shelf underneath for storage. I work in the garage, but it's heaven to me.

I started "serious" modeling only about a year ago. My main tools are the ol' #11 X-acto and tweezers. I use Testors liquid cement and superglue. My putty is Squadron White. I don't have an airbrush yet, so I brushpaint with Polyscale. My favorite model? Why the one I'm currently working on, of course! In this case, that's Tamiya's 1/35 Stug IV you see in the photos.
