Greg ReynoldsWorkbench ![]() My workbench is in the family room. It features lots of lights for my aging eyes: a large desk lamp with a full spectrum bulb, a magnifying lamp and a small high intensity lamp for working on the teenie weenie bits. Another feature is the drape attached to the top of the backboard. In an instant I can put my mess out of the sight of company or my many-fingered grandson, without cleaning up! My favorite tools are the overhead flex-shaft grinder and a six inch flexible steel rule. The grinder is used for drilling, carving, sanding and polishing. Besides using the rule as a guide for cutting and scribing, I use it as a backing for small pieces of sandpaper. When filling seams, I like its balance between stiffness and flexibility that allows it to follow the contours of the plastic without gouging out softer putties. My favorite glues are Tenax and superglue. Putty: Tamiya. I'm slowly converting over to Tamiya paints after a lifetime of Floquil and Pactra. I use a Badger 150 airbrush with a little diaphram compressor. Until I get my spray booth plumbed, I'm spraying in the garage. ![]() 35 years ago. My workbench in an earlier incarnation in a room I built in the attic of my parent's home.
