Randy BumgardnerWorkbench ![]() ![]() My primary workbench is in my shop. I'm lucky enough to have my very own outbuilding dedicated to my modeling needs. My spray booth is on the north end of the shop. It's a homebuilt affair that works quite well... ![]() ![]() My unbuilt stash, which only totals about 80 planes (I'm still a returning newbie) is in the cabinets next to the bench. ![]() My favorite tools are my computer and my library. In addition to my reference library (a fraction of which is actually in the shop), I use the computer for almost all of my research. I spend almost as much time researching a subject as I do building it! ![]() I generally use Testor's Liquid cement, although I have used CA for aftermarket stuff and the occasional quick fix. As far as putties, I'm experimenting with different fillers. I have used Squadron white, MagicSculpt, white glue, typewriter white-out, etc. I have heard quite a bit about 3M's Acryl Blue. That is next on my list. I have not found the "magic fill-all", but I'm still looking. I'm trying out XtraColor paints at the moment. I have used ModelMaster, Tamiya, and Colourcoats. Colourcoats are generally my favorite. They go on easily and cover well. The airbrush of choice in my spray booth is a Bager 200g. I use it for just about everything, as far as painting goes. I also use a Paasche VL and my trusty Badger 200 which I've used for about 25 years. Currently, I'm using a little no name compressor. I'm hoping to move up to an Iwata SmartJet compressor as soon as I save my allowance.
