Wings Over the Wine Country Airshow 2007 Make and TakeLocation: Santa Rosa, California Date: August 18-19, 2007 Commentary: John Admire Photographer: John Admire We had a very successful Make and Take at the Wings Over Wine Country Air Show at the Sonoma County Airport on August 18th & 19th 2007. This was our second year at the air show and I think that it was an even bigger hit than last year. We helped kids of all ages built 250 Snap-Tite model kits over both days. ![]() As you can see from the photos, we had a great display with models, posters, promotional and membership material. Two long building tables accommodated about two dozen builders. The kids had a choice of four Revell Snap Tite kits: the SR-71 Blackbird, F-18 Blue Angels Hornet, A-10 Warthog and AH-64 Apache. ![]() A special THANK YOU goes to Steve Elliott of HobbyTown for generously donating the models and loaning the tables. We are also indebted to the sponsors of the air show, the Pacific Coast Air Museum, for their cooperation, John Boes and Greg Reynolds for building the model display cases and my long suffering family, Cathy, Michelle and Tim, for helping with the decorations, setup and building. We had two very hard working crews helping the kids build to whom I would like to say THANK YOU for helping out. We could not have done it without you. Saturday's Crew: Cathy, Tim and John Admire, Paul Anderson, John Boes, Steve Elliott, David Grundman, Chris Zanella. Sunday's Crew: Cathy, John and Michelle Admire, Tom Berto, Steve Elliott, Pat Nichols, Greg Reynolds, Mike Winters. The air show is our club's biggest opportunity of the year to promote interest in the hobby and IPMS. We made a lot of young modelers happy and we made contact with hundreds of people that are very interested in our club and our upcoming Expo. We expect to see some new faces at our meetings soon.
