Now we are looking at the side of the P-51 belly scoop installation, with forward scoop removed. Here you can clearly see that immediately behind the scoop inlet, the duct divides. What you see at the bottom of the picture is the is the OIL cooler. The majority of the air is routed OVER the oil cooler and through the much larger engine coolant radiator a bit further aft.
