1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Awards
New awards will be awarded to all First, Second and Third place winners in all Senior, Junior and Youth categories including the "Speed Model Build" event.
The 2015 Hobby Expo awards will again be handmade by our members. Every category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. Plus we will have our world renowned shadowbox trophies built by our own Greg Reynolds. The trophies include an autograph of a famous person who is somehow connected to the theme of the show and the category the award represents.

"Best of Show"

The Award will feature an autograph from
Gregory "Pappy" Boyington who was a highly decorated American combat pilot who was a United States Marine Corps fighter ace during World War II. He received both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross.


"Best Junior/Youth Model"

The Award will feature an autograph from
Kevin Brooks Eastman is an American comic book artist and writer, best known as the co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles alongside Peter Laird. Eastman is also the editor, and publisher of the magazine Heavy Metal..
"Best Aircraft"

The Award will feature an autograph from
Donald S. Lopez, Sr. was a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force fighter and test pilot and until his death the deputy director of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.


"Best Armor"

Christopher Navarre, WWII War Black Panthers Tank commander.

"Best Automotive"

Anthony Joseph "A. J." Foyt, Jr. is an American retired automobile racing driver. He raced in numerous genres of motorsports. His open wheel racing includes United States Automobile Club Champ cars and midget cars..

"Best Civilian Aircraft"
The Hugh Silvis Memorial Award for Best Civilian Aircraft honors the memory of Hugh Silvis, leading light and founding member of IPMS Golden Gate (SF). The Best Civilian Aircraft subject will be selected from the appropriate regular contest categories by the judges.

Blanche Noyes was an American pioneering female aviator who was among the first ten women to receive a pilot's license. In 1929, she became Ohio's first licensed female pilot.
